Dragonfly, the album this song is from, was the flip side of the cassette we used to play first on road trips (see #80). When I hear anything from it, I see highway 12 in Michigan (on our first couple of road trips, we were too scared to drive the interstate), with all its picturesque little towns. Mae Moore is a BC singer who we first heard on CBC's Morningside with Peter Gzowski, both now long gone. Another great song of hers is Red Clay Hills, which I just learned is about PEI, where she lived for three years, and the threat people feared would be posed by the proposed fixed link to the mainland -- the present Confederation Bridge. As for me, I'd be scared about the dangers posed to self driving across a 13 km bridge!
