62. Stumbling Through the Dark. The Jayhawks

This is from a CD I came across in the library: The Grass is Always Bluer. Apparently it's a collection of "nu-grass" artists, including Gillian Welch and Lucinda Williams. I'd never heard of The Jayhawks before but I liked this song. I have no idea what the lyrics are about, but I like the part where they sing "the men who proceeded us here left only questions and fears." I picture the voyageurs or somebody like that exploring the wilds, and I sing along (fixing the grammar at the same time) "the men who preceded us here left only pretzels and beer."

  1. Now its working fine. This had a late '60s vibe to it I thought...reminded me of the Seekers or early simon and Garfunkle.
