68. William Tell Overture. Spike Jones

At first I had The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald scheduled for today; it's a fantastic, moving song but you all know it. So I decided to feature Spike Jones' William Tell Overture instead. This post is dedicated to my oldest friend in the world, L - we used to listen to this at her house. I'm afraid you will have to listen to more Spike Jones before the year is over. I'm not really sorry - Spike Jones is hilarious, no matter what my mother thinks!

P.S. We used to call this song Beetlebaum (the horse), but some people seem to think the horse is Fetelbaum or Feitlebaum.

  1. At first I though I was listening to a Bugs Bunny soundtrack. Adam would love this one for sure....particularly the belch! alas he is down with the flu. I'll play it for him when he's feeling better. I hear "Beetlebaum".....
