I can't remember for sure but I think the first Rufus Wainwright song I heard was Oh, What a World, and I liked how he gradually layered the music, incorporating Bolero towards the end. I like this song for the same reason; he adds layers and the sound builds. What the heck is it about? I don't know, but it's got a line from Three's Company. And I like the line "give me heaven or hell, Calais or Dover." This kind of reminds me of The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour. I like the quality of his voice, too: it sounds kind of lazy but it has a richness.
