39. Marie's Wedding. Van Morrison and The Chieftains

This album was a staple in the hellish McMaster days; lots of scotch was imbibed to it. I like the traditional instruments used by The Chieftains, especially the uilleann pipes (sort of like little bagpipes) and the bodhran (the drum). It's incredible how many collaborations The Chieftains have done. One good collaborative album is Tears of Stone, which features a bunch of different female artists, including a deep-voiced Joni Mitchell singing The Magdalene Laundries. They've also done collaborations with bluegrass and country artists, Down the Old Plank Road and Further Down the Old Plank Road, which feature such diverse people as Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, and Lyle Lovett.
