I once met a person who, after I told her I was doing PhD and that one of my favorite possessions was a Mickey Mouse hat, said "You are a very complex woman." Exactly. That is how I, Dr. S, can be a fan of ABBA and Oliver Schroer at the same time.
Unfortunately, I didn't cotton on to Oliver Schroer, an amazing violinist from Toronto, until it was too late. He was diagnosed with leukemia in 2007 and died about a year later. This tune is from an album he created in the last year of his life.
It's sad and elegiac, but hopeful and transcendant at the end. A song for all seasons.
