Rachmaninov Suite No. 1 for 2 pianos, Op. 5, Fantaisie-tableaux: IV. Russian Easter. Emanuel Ax & Yefim Bronfman

I heard this on WGBH Classical, which is a classical music station out of Boston. It seems kind of like the old CBC2 - intelligent, knowledgeable hosts and good music.

This piece is kind of loud and maybe a bit jarring, but I like all the chord changes. It reminds me a bit of Philip Glass; repetative, but then a really cool chord shows up and gives you a thrill. Unlike some of Philip Glass's stuff, however, this piece is nice and short, so you are unlikely to be lulled to sleep (as I was at a premiere of a Philip Glass violin concerto in December; luckily Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony woke me up).
